What it is
One thing that always becomes an issue when we try to sell Nalara is the installation cost. To run it you need at least a mid-tier PC, a monitor and the kiosk stand. That alone can cost more than the software itself. And that is not the only issue with Nalara: it stops at a realistic human form. If you have a company mascot with a distinct art style and want to use it as the face of the Nalara system, that is possible, but it is not easy to implement and it would also waste the real capability of the architecture we use.
To answer that we created a lightweight version of it, Nalara Lite. The purpose is still the same, taking the repetitive work off the staff and handling the general questions for them. This time presented as a 2D character, which is not only light but also opens up the possibility of putting any kind of character in as the face.

The problem
I am a stranger to web development. Normally I would need a couple of months just to scratch the surface of it. Besides that, I needed to improve the visuals of whatever was going to be the face of the system. Which I believe comes through their movement: animation.

What I did
While the visual assets were handled by one of our designers, I took the part of the one taking care of the whole web development and making the character alive. I used Claude Code to handle the web development within a short time, and Rive to animate the 2D character.
Outcome
There was no meaningful issue that I encountered during the development; everything went smoothly. Although this project is new, we have already pitched it to one of the biggest parks in Indonesia and are waiting for their feedback. We are also planning to show it to the public in the near future.
